• Prepare a few drafts before you submit it.
• Follow the structure:
• Introduction.
• Subject.
• Subject courses.
• Hobbies and work experience.
• Conclusion.
• Make your statement personal – you write it about yourself, not about someone else.
• Keep it positive, as even though a personal statement is a very difficult paper to prepare, but showing your strengths and being enthusiastic will help to boost it among others.

• Don’t turn it to the list of your achievements and results.
• Don’t submit it without proofreading – as even a tiny mistake can spoil an overall impression about you.
• Write chaotically. Remember that structure is the key to success.
• Avoid clichés. If you don’t want to sound like others, write it from your heart avoiding “big” metaphors and comparisons.
• No exaggeration and repetition. Remember, that by trying to falsify your achievements or repeat the same information over and over again will not make any good.
• Don’t use overly complex language. Of course everyone wants to impress the admission committee, but don’t use the language that is too complex or the sentences that are ridiculously long.
• Not an autobiography! Remember that a personal statement is not an autobiography! Pay attention to experience and subject.
